The Diamond Valley Junior Program is very proud to announce that Al McAughtry, Director of Coaching (Boys), has been appointed Assistant Coach to the Australian Under 17 Youth (Boys) Team to compete at the Youth Olympics in Sydney, in January 2009.

DV Eagles Juniors - Registration Payment Day Sunday 23 November 2008

As per invoices recently posted out, the registration component of player fees for the coming season is due by Sunday 23 November. This is Instalment 1 ($100) of the total fee and covers the first Grading Phase. Each players must be registered to play in their selected DV team. Payment not received will prevent players participating in games 7 days after this date.

Big V Welcomes a New Gem to its Crown Division

For the first time since 2005, Big V Basketball is pleased to welcome a new team into their Championship Women’s division. The Diamond Valley Eagles will take the step-up from Division One in 2009 and coach Peter Gay said his side was looking forward to the challenge.

    Well no rest for the wicked, DVers, and we must be very, very wicked!  Seems that season '08 just finished and here we are already lining up our teams as the Junior Program prepares to wreak carnage throughout the basketball comps again in 2009!  Wahoo!!! Don't touch this!!!

  • It is a compulsory requirement of the Junior Championship Committee that all teams must compete in a minimum of two tournaments during the season.
     
    The Eltham-Dandenong Tournament is held over the Australia Day weekend (most teams compete in this) and is a great way to re-commence basketball after the school holidays as preparations for the season proper in March.
     
    The Queen's Birthday weekend in June is when The Classic is held in Melbourne for teams that are invited from VC competition, and options for tournaments at Nunawading and Ballarat also exist for other teams.
